Turkey's gamble with blocking Twitter backfires
It appears that the childish obstinacy of Turkish prime minister, Mr. Erdogan has backfired big time. After he publicly announced he will "Eradicate Twitter", the turkish ISPs has blocked twitter by a simple DNS blocking. Very quickly, people found simply by replacing a neutral DNS server like google servers, they can access twitter. Tweets originating from Turkey went up 138%, and hashtag #twitterblockedinturkey became a trend. A big lesson to the Mr. PM, that fighting with freedom of speech and new technologies are much harder than he thinks.
