Filtering Google and Gmail in reaction to anti-Islam film

Iran was set to block access to Google and Gmail on September 23rd in reaction to the anti-Islam film that has triggered protests across the Muslim world.

"Google and Gmail will be filtered throughout the country until further notice," said Abdolsamad Khoramabadi, an Iranian official with the state-run body in charge of online censorship and computer crimes, according to the semi-official Ilna news agency. There was no indication as to whether the filtering would be temporary or permanent.

Khoramabadi claimed the decision was taken after Iranians pressed the authorities to filter the sites because of links to the film.

"Iran has fears of an outside cyber-attack like that of the Stuxnet, and is trying to protect its sensitive data from being accessible on the world wide web," an Iranian IT expert with close knowledge of the national internet project told the Guardian earlier this year. Stuxnet, a computer worm designed to sabotage Iran's uranium enrichment project, hit the country's nuclear facilities in 2010.Iran is among the world's most censored countries and has widespread online censorship

فیلتر کردن "گوگل" و "جی میل" در واکنش با فیلم ضد اسلامی

ایران در واکنش با انتشار فیلم ضد اسلامی که اعتراضات همگان را در سراسر جهان برانگیخت، در صدد آن است که از دسترسی به سایت های "گوگل" و "جی میل" جلوگیری به عمل آورد. 23 سپتامبر مصادف با دوم مهر ماه عبدالصمد خرم آبادی گفت: "تا اطلاع ثانوی گوگل و جی میل در سرتاسر کشور فیلتر خواهد شد."  یکی از مقامات رسمس نیز چنین گفته است که مشخص نیست که این فیلترینگ بصورت موقتی خواهد بود یا دائمی!

خرم آبادی چنین ادعا می کند که این تصمیم با توجه به لینک فیلم ضد اسلامی ای اتخاذ شده است که در ای سایت ها قرار داده شده است. یک کارشناس IT ایرانی که معلومات بالایی نسبت به پروژه های اینترنت ملی دارد، قبلاً به گاردین گفته بود که: "ایران شدیداً از حمله های سایبری همچون استاکس نت می ترسد و سعی بر آن دارد که اطلاعات حساس و محرمانه خود را حفظ کند و در دسترس شبکه جهانی اینترنت قرار ندهد."

استاکس نت، یک کرم کامپیوتری است که در سال 2010 برای ایجاد اختلال در پروژه غنی سازی اورانیوم و ضربه زدن به تأسیسات هسته ای ایران طراحی شد. در میان کشورهای جهان، ایران یکی از کشورهایی است که بیشترین سانسورهای آنلاین را داراست.
